Why do schools need computer curriculum? Today’s students are living in a digital age where success depends of their ability to use and understand technology. Regardless of where they work or the work they do, it will be necessary to utilize technology to gather, analyze and exchange information quickly and accurately. Those with the necessary skills, knowledge and ability to convey ideas electronically have a solid future. Our curriculum is the results of years of professional research and development by certified teachers working in this demanding field, and can provide you with the necessary tools to bring technology skills to your students.
About our Curriculum TechnoKids Computer Curriculum uses a project-based approach to integrate computing skills into K-12 education. The curriculum is divided into six categories: Primary, Junior, Intermediate, Senior, Camp, and Teacher. Each category contains a set of projects designed to integrate a range of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills into student learning, including: word processing, programming, graphics, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, applied technology, telecommunications, databases, operating systems, and multimedia. There are more than 60 projects that integrate technology into learning. The complete curriculum can be offered as a complete program for a school or learning centre, or a single project can be selected to complement an existing academic curriculum unit. Either way, students will learn essential technology skills that will prepare them for the digital age.
TechnoKids Computer Curriculum TechnoKids Computer Curriculum is a set of theme-based projects that can be used to integrate technology into learning experiences. The projects are organized into the six categories: · Primary (ages 5-7) · Junior (ages 8-10) · Intermediate (ages 11-13) · Senior (ages 14+) · Camp (ages 7-12) · Teacher These projects are placed into CDs, although our product is not a software program. TechnoKids Computer Curriculum is similar to a set of electronic books containing teaching ideas. We call these ideas projects, and the instructional approach project based approach. Project Based Learning is a unique approach to teaching technology skills. In many classrooms, students learn how to use the computer by completing lessons focused on a software application, such as ”Introduction to Word — Level 1”. This can cause lack of interest for students and does not meet their individual needs. With the TechnoKids approach, students complete fun projects that focus around problem solving tasks. They learn information and communication technology skills gradually as they complete activities such as publishing a magazine, creating a multimedia storyboard, or developing a website. There are so many projects to choose from! TechnoKids Computer Curriculum is comprised of over 60 projects. Each project in the Computer Curriculum contains a teacher guide, student workbook*, and resource files. * Student workbooks are available for selected Primary and all Junior, Intermediate, Senior, and Teacher projects. |
